The Image

From the western most end of Nepenthe's terrace, the south coast view includes a small pond nestled in a field next to a redwood grove. This painting depicts this pond.

The Print

This print is available on 11" x 14" or 16" x 20" Watercolor Paper. The image sizes are approximately 8" x 10" or 14" x 11" respectively.

These prints are signed and numbered by the artist. They are printed on an Epson 9600 printer. This process produces an archival quality, fine art reproduction. This edition is limited to a run of 150 prints. The low number ensures exclusivity and enhances the value of the Artwork.

Erin Lee Gafill

Erin's roots in the arts run deep. Her great-great grandmother was Jane Gallatin Powers, who had the first artist's studio in Carmel, and who, along with her husband Frank, created the artists' colony which is today Carmel-by-the-Sea. Her grandparents, Lolly and Bill Fassett built Nepenthe Restaurant in Big Sur, the legendary watering hole for artists, poets, writers, and bohemians.

Erin co-founded the Big Sur Arts Initiative, a nonprofit arts education organization, and in 2001 was chosen to the be first American artist-in-residence at the Hamada International Children's Museum of Art in Hamada Japan.

An award-winning writer, painter, and teacher, Erin's work is collected internationally. These limited edition prints, as well as note cards and original oil paintings are available through the Phoenix Shop.
